.:Ray Beez Surgery Update:.
Ray Beez had surgery on 11/09/06 on his left knee.

Ray Beez first injured his knee back in August of 2005 while playing football, Ray returned to wrestling in October of 2005 After taking some time off to try and heal his injuries. Ray Beez hurt his knee again on 02/04/06 in a match Vs Jaison Moore. Putting off getting his knee looked at finally he went and got an MRI. On 11/03/06 he got the MRI results and the bad news. The Doctor told him he needed surgery ASAP and that he more then likely is done wrestling for good. Ray got his surgery scheduled for the following week on 11/09/06. This is the same knee that Ray had surgery on to repair a minor tear of his meniscus in 2000.

Here is what the Doctor typed up for the MRI results:

"Multisequence, multiplanar MR images of the left knee were obtained.

The body of the medial meniscus is foreshortened. A displaced bucket handle tear is identified lying mainly anterior and superior to the anterior horn of the medial meniscus but a very thin portion of the bucket handle lies just medial to the medialtibial spine. Severe irregularity of the inferior surface of the junction of the body and posterior horn of the medial meniscus is noted. Just underlying this irregularity bone marrow bruising is identified. Marked fissuring of the central patellar cartilage is identified. A small joint effusion is noted.

IMPRESSION:

A bucket handle tear of the medial meniscus is noted. The majority of the substance of the bucket handle appears to lie anteriorly just superior to the anterior horn of the medial meniscus. However, the entire bucket handle is noted and the rest of the bucket handle lies just medial to and just superior to the medial tibial spine. Small joint effusion. Bone bruise like signal identified in the posteromedial surface of the medial tibial plateau."

Last Match?

Ray Beez went ahead with his match on 11/04/06 just in case it was his last match. This match was a main event 4-way elimination match for the vacant Sunray Pro Heavyweight Championship. Ray took on 3 of Florida's best in Eddie Taurus, Erick Stevens, and Marcus Hall. Ray made it to the end but Stevens was able to get the win after a German Suplex off the top rope and then a Doctor Bomb.

11/09/06 Surgey time:

At about 4:00pm on 11/09/06 Ray's surgery started. The Doctor told him it was worse then expected as he found that the cartilage around his knee cap (picture 0) was "torn to shreds" and had to be removed. As expected his most of his meniscus (about 95% of it) had to be removed. At this point there is not much padding in his knee at all and is mostly bone on bone. The Doctor told him that this will for sure cause severe arthritis in his knee, and because of that he will need a knee replacement at a young age.

Ray vows to return to the ring once his knee is "good enough to go." "I know the Doctor said I should not wrestle anymore, but regardless I will end up needing a knee replacement" said Ray. Ray added: "I might as well keep doing what I love." Ray finished us with "wrestling has gotten me through some tough times and it will continue to do so."

On 02/09/07 Ray Beez returned to the ring when he faced Leon Scott in the 2007 YaPro Cup.
